The Gas Leak Viewer from JFE Advantech is a handheld acoustic camera that lets you see air and gas leaks in real time from a safe distance. A compact array of ultrasonic sensors listens at a center frequency of 40 kHz, the range that is most sensitive for air leak detection and the frequency commonly used in ultrasonic leak testing under international standards such as ISO and ASTM. The result is displayed as a color sound-pressure map overlaid on a live camera image on the 4.3" screen, so the source of a leak can be located at a glance, from up to 30 m away (manufacturer's actual performance).
Because leaks are detected as ultrasound rather than audible sound, the noise of operating equipment does not interfere with the measurement. The Background Noise Identification Optimization function (AUTO Mode) has been upgraded: an algorithm analyzes the data and eliminates noise to reduce false detections. The Estimated Leak Volume display has also been improved, giving you a practical way to prioritize which leaks to repair first. The viewer works with any type of gas, including argon, hydrogen, nitrogen and steam, and can also be used to find suction leaks in vacuum piping.
Three models are available. The MK-770A is the advanced model: in addition to leak detection it estimates the annual financial loss caused by an air leak, records video with sound-pressure map overlay, offers a faster 8 frames/sec High mode and adds partial discharge detection with FFT frequency analysis. The MK-750STA is the standard gas leak detector, and the MK-750STA-R is the minimal configuration model, supplied without the wrist strap, protector and USB cable and weighing approximately 100 g less.
All models are compact (182 x 114 x 64 mm), rated IP42 and record photo images that make it easy to document findings for maintenance reports. Images, sound-pressure map data and measurement information are saved to internal memory (over 3,500 still images) and transferred to a Windows PC over USB.
- Real-time acoustic imaging: a color sound-pressure map is overlaid on a live camera image, so leaks can be pinpointed at a glance
- Locate leaks from a safe distance – up to 30 m (manufacturer's actual performance)
- Ultrasonic sensor with a 40 kHz center frequency, the frequency most sensitive for air leaks and commonly used in ISO and ASTM ultrasonic leak testing
- Upgraded Background Noise Identification Optimization (AUTO Mode) analyzes the data and removes noise for fewer false detections
- Improved estimated leak volume display helps you decide which leaks to repair first
- Audible noise from operating equipment does not interfere with the ultrasonic measurement
- Works with any type of gas, such as argon, hydrogen, nitrogen or steam, and also detects suction leaks in vacuum piping
- Saves photo images for maintenance reports – over 3,500 still images in 1 GB internal memory, transferred to a Windows PC via USB
- Compact handheld design: 182 x 114 x 64 mm, approx. 640–740 g, IP42
- MK-770A only: annual leak loss cost estimation, MP4 video recording, 8 frames/sec High mode and partial discharge detection with FFT frequency analysis
The Gas Leak Viewer works with any type of gas, such as argon, hydrogen, nitrogen or steam.

Detects air and gas leaks from:
- Pinholes in piping caused by corrosion
- Regulator joints
- Air tubes of welding machines and similar equipment
- Loose flanges or deteriorated gaskets
- Defective welds
Also detects suction leaks in vacuum piping.
Note: depending on the measurement environment and the nature of the leak, detection may not be possible in every case.
Compact and lightweight design: JFE Advantech's sensor technology achieves strong detection performance with a small number of sensors, placed for maximum efficiency.
Background Noise Identification Optimization: in AUTO Mode the viewer filters out background noise so that only the real leak is shown on the sound-pressure map.

40 kHz center frequency: the viewer detects ultrasound centered at 40 kHz, the range most sensitive for air leak detection and the frequency commonly used in ultrasonic leak testing under international standards such as ISO and ASTM.
MK-770A energy loss calculation: enter the unit price, the equipment's operating hours and the distance to the target, and the MK-770A calculates and displays the annual financial loss caused by the air leak.
