The RX2 tension meter is designed to measure tension of carbon fiber tows, fiberglass, tape and other narrow web materials. Cylindrical rollers are offered in 7, 10, 15, 20, 30, 36, 41 and 50 mm lengths to measure tapes, bands, tows, films and similar materials. Roller width should not exceed 2x the width of the material being measured.

NOTE: Models using 50 mm roller lengths are supplied with a special heavy-duty bracket and use the DXX model designation.

Note:This model does not include a material thickness compensator 

For measurement of carbon fibers, we can offer a special carbon-optimized coating on the 10, 15 or 20 mm rollers which is commonly used in the CF industry. This Topochrom coating is commonly referred to by many as an "orange peel" (based on the textured surface when viewed under a microscope). This roller coating is our Option Code "CF".

Calibration to customized material:
If process material differs significantly from the standard calibration material in diameter, rigidity or shape, special calibration using customer supplied samples is recommended. For this purpose a material sample of about 15 ft. should be supplied.

Air Damping (A)

An adjustable, precision air dashpot provides steady tension reading as tension fluctuate.
Lever (L)

A heavy duty, lever-operated mechanism moves the outer rollers for easy acquisition of the running filament. Recommended for models of 10 Kg or higher.
Memory Pointer (M)

Designed to retain the peak value as tensions fluctuate. Manually reset by using the knob located in the center of the dial.
Note: Model RX2-50 is not available with memory pointer
